Local residents will be showing their love for Lodge Lane on Friday (1 July)
“Loving Lodge Lane” celebrates all that is good in the area around Lodge Lane and gets communities working together while having some fun.
The event started in 2011 in response to media coverage of the 30th anniversary of the Toxteth riots and was aimed at making the area cleaner and greener.
“It is a celebration of the diversity of our community,” said local Councillor Laura Robertson-Collins. “Loving Lodge Lane is an opportunity to show pride in where we live.”
Community skips will be available in the morning in different locations around Lodge Lane.
The programme includes:
10.30am A community liter pick staring at Granby Toxteth Development Trust
10.30am Cake and a cuppa at Granby Toxteth Development Trust
10.30am – 12 noon Free dog chipping at Handel Court car park
11am – 2pm LMH advice bus and Handel Court open day at Handel Court, corner of Lodge Lane and Coltart Road.
1.30pm to 4pm Get busy at the Baths Site (Lodge Lane, corner of Grierson Street), Free activities,, information and fun and games.
4.30pm Young Persons Litter Pick starting at Unity Youth Centre, Solway Street.
5pm to 8pm Young Persons community BBQ at Unity Youth Centre.
5pm to 8pm Arts and Crafts for young people at Unity Youth Centre.
