The enchanted side of nature comes to Liverpool on Saturday 18 May with Mab’s Magical Fair, a free outdoor family festival at Mab Lane Community Woodland, near Stockbridge Village.
Children are invited to come along dressed up as elves, wizards or fairies, or join the secret Forest School in the woods to create their own crown, wand and wings from natural materials. In six magical workshops, kids of all ages will be able to enjoy activities including toasting marshmallows around the camp fire and learning woodland crafts.
They can also listen to enchanted storytelling in an atmospheric tipi, marvel at the giant stilt walkers, and enjoy spectacular face painting -all for free.
The event will be opened by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Sharon Sullivan, at midday and runs until 4pm. Parking is available at the nearby Tesco on Deysbrook Lane (L12 4YF) who have offered use of their car park.
Buses 12 and 13 run from Liverpool city centre and take 30 minutes.
Find out more at www.mablane.com or call 01925 816217. You can also join the event on Facebook at www.facebook.com/merseyforest, with more than 200 families signed up to attend.
The afternoon is organised by The Mersey Forest in partnership with Liverpool City Council and Riverside Berrybridge as part of Access to Nature, a national scheme run by Natural England and funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
