Mayor Joanne Anderson has confirmed Liverpool City Council Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Finance and Resources Mel Creighton has resigned and will leave her role at the end of August.
She had been with the local authority for three-and-a-half years.
Mayor of Liverpool Joanne Anderson said: “Mel Creighton has informed the council that she wishes to pursue new opportunities elsewhere, and we respect her decision.”
Liverpool City Council Chief Executive Tony Reeves said: “I have today accepted Mel Creighton’s resignation. We are now having discussions with the Commissioners about the arrangements to be put in place to recruit a successor.”
