The following message has been sent to parents of pupils at Belvedere Academy following a recent accident in which a number of pupils were injured.
“You will all be aware of the recent serious accident outside the Belvedere Academy and you will, of course, be concerned about the safety of your children.
“An investigation by Merseyside Police is still continuing into the circumstances which led to the accident. You may have read that an initial finding is that the cause of the accident was driver error, but we would stress that the investigation has still to be concluded.
“However, while we await the outcome of that investigation, we have recently met to consider if there are any ways safety in Belvidere Road can be improved.
“A number of options are under consideration and if they prove to be feasible, they will be implemented as soon as possible.
“Please rest assured that we are working together to ensure that all the pupils have a safe journey to and from both the Academy and Belvedere Preparatory School and that we will provide you with further information about any measures it is intended to implement.”
