Liverpool’s young stars were at the heart of a special celebration as the City honoured the outstanding accomplishments of children in care and care-experienced young people.
The grand celebration of achievement, held at St George’s Hall, celebrated children and young people who have made positive impact in their communities.
The event was attended by 300 young people, along with their loved ones, carers, friends and social workers.
From overcoming personal challenges, to excelling in education and contributing to their communities, each young person was acknowledged for their strength and dedication.
The evening was filled with excitement as the young people received their prizes and trophies with every single nominee presented with a certificate and a prize, celebrating their unique contributions.
The ceremony showcased countless moving stories, highlighting that with the right support, young people can achieve extraordinary things, some doing so in the face of adversity.
Cllr Liz Parsons, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “We celebrate our children and their achievements every day, but events like these are so important to make them feel truly special. The glitz and glamour of the evening, with the young people all dressed up and looking smart, makes them feel like superstars.
“Every child who is nominated for an award receives recognition, and seeing their faces light up when their names are read out is such a joy.
We couldn’t do this without the support of parents, carers, foster carers, social workers and teachers, all of whom play a vital role in supporting our children. We’re incredibly proud of their achievements, and we can’t wait for the next celebration!”
Amanda, a carer who looks after two young people who won trophies at the awards, said: “We had a wonderful time at the awards. We’ve loved all the stories, and the Hall looks amazing. We are so proud of both of our boys and this event will be a great memory for them to have for the rest of their lives.”
