Picton Road works

Bridge refurbishment works by Network Rail, which have just commenced, will cause delays to car journeys on Picton Road until mid-April 2014.

A section of the road has been reduced to a single direction, and temporary two-way lights have been put in place at the McDonald Street junction at Picton Road, extending through to the bridge.

The city council is working to minimise disruption as much as possible, and is ensuring the two-way lights are manually controlled during peak hours, so that motorists are not waiting unnecessarily.

The lights will also be monitored throughout the day to ensure they are keeping traffic moving as smoothly as possible.

Motorists are being notified of the Network Rail works, and the resulting disruption, through variable messaging signage.

People travelling on this route are likely to experience delays while this work is on-going and are advised to seek alternative routes where possible.
