A detailed planning application has been formally submitted by Birkenhead-based partnership homes developer Lovell Homes on behalf of Foundations.
The new homes will be delivered in two phases, subject to planning consent, and will comprise 56 two-bedroom homes, 43 three-bedroom homes, four four-bedroom homes and four two-bedroom bungalows.
The houses will be available for rent and sale, including a number of affordable properties.
The proposed development will be one of the first delivered by Foundations as it targets the completion of 10,000 new homes over the next decade.
Established this year, Foundations aims to improve the availability of good quality, affordable homes in the city. It will also be building homes catering for specific groups including foster carers, large families, the elderly and people with a disability.
Some of the new homes will be designed to Lifetime Home standards and are earmarked for an empty piece of land previously occupied by a city council housing estate.
Foundations is the flagship housing policy for the Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson, who wants to use the company to rebalance the city’s social housing stock, revolutionise the rent to buy sector and drive up council tax receipts for the council.
The £500 million programme is seen as fundamental to addressing the city’s need to develop 30,000 new homes by 2030.

If approved, the Lovell Partnership construction team aim to start construction by January 2019. The first phase of homes would be built by 2020 and the second phase by 2022.
