Pupils from a Kirkdale school are helping to make a new community garden blossom.
The children from St John’s School will be busy carrying out planting at the new garden in Kearsley Road/ Sandheys Close.
Previously the area was a piece of derelict land which had been tarmaced over but it has been converted into a green space for local residents with work carried out by the council’s neighbourhood team and Plus Dane.
Local Councillor Malcolm Kennedy (pictured at the garden) said; “The new garden is really appreciated by local people.
“We are creating more than 100 of these community spaces out of derelict land across the city. They are converting eyesores into something neighbourhoods enjoy and can be proud of.
“And it’s great that local school children are playing their part it making the garden grow.”
