Remembering Auschwitz liberation

A book of remembrance for people to sign to mark the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau is on display at Liverpool Town Hall.

The book, which has been signed by Lord Mayor, Cllr Anna Rothery, Mayor Joe Anderson and Alderman Eddie Clein, President of Merseyside Jewish Representative Council, is on display up to and including Monday 27 January.

The book is available for signing on the following days:

Monday 20 January: 10am – 4pm

Tuesday 21 January: 10am – 6pm

Wednesday 22 – Friday 24 January: 10am – 4pm

Monday 27 January: 1 – 4pm

At a recent meeting, councillors voted unanimously to back two motions – one reaffirming a commitment to remembering the Holocaust and making sure it cannot happen again, and another praising a memorial project led by UNISON to remember the women held in the Ravensbruck concentration camp.
