Work on a gateway route into Liverpool city centre will start next week.
Repairs to the carriageway surface at Great Howard Street, between Leeds Street and Blackstone Street will begin on Tuesday 27 August and will last for up to two weeks.
The works are required due to the premature failure of several sections of the works that were undertaken two years ago. This failure can be attributed to material specification and the works are being undertaken by the original contractor at no expense to the Council.
The works have been programmed to start in the school holidays to minimise disruption as the traffic flows are lighter, but unfortunately it was not possible to programme the works to be completed before the start of the school term.
Single lane traffic in both directions will be maintained throughout the work.
