Rock ‘n’ roll panto’s back – oh yes it is

Liverpool’s legendary rock ‘n’ roll panto is returning  to the Plahouse Theatre.

Aladdin is at the Williamson Square venue from Friday 29 November  to Saturday 18 January .

The multi-talented cast sing, dance, entertain, and play music live on stage. Heading that cast are audience favourites Adam Keast as the Genie  and Liverpool’s infamous Panto Dame Francis Tucker as Widow Twanky. Marianne Benedict and Griffin Stevens reprise their dastardly double act from last year’s Jack and the Beanstalk as Empress Morgana and the Dark Lord, while the returning Aretha Ayeh and Carla Freeman are sure to cast a spell as Twinks and Princess Willow. Sam Haywood plays Aladdin and will be joined by Matthew Ganley, Sarah Moss and Lindsay Goodhand. It has been penned by regular panto writers Sarah A. Nixon and Mark Chatterton.

This year’s panto is sponsored by Littlewoods.com.

Deborah Aydon, Executive Director of the Everyman and Playhouse, said: “We are delighted to have Littlewoods.com as our sponsor for this year’s Panto. This is a great match, bringing two much-loved Liverpool institutions together to help families celebrate in style this festive season and beyond.”

Gary Kibble, Retail Brand Director at Littlewoods.com, a Shop Direct brand, said: “The rock ‘n’ roll panto is a much loved Liverpool institution and we are thrilled to be sponsoring it for the first time this year. Christmas is such an important time for the Littlewoods customer and supporting Aladdin was an ideal opportunity to help bring some festive fun and cheer to families across the city.”
