Pupils from Rudston Primary School in Childwall have been learning more about the history of Liverpool.
The project, called ‘A Step Back in Time’, focuses on various aspects of Liverpool’s rich history, including sport, music, the wars, the docks, landmarks, multiculturalism and the city’s regeneration.
It has culminated in an immersive exhibition which has recently been visited by Mayor Joe Anderson and Councillor Jeremy Wolfson who, with his ward colleague Cllr Liz Parsons, has helped fund the work using a portion of neighbourhood funding.
Head Wendy Walters said: “The children have really enjoyed this project, learning about all aspects of Liverpool’s history, hearing from people who shared stories from back in time, helping them build a picture of the city’s past.”
Ward councillor Jeremy Wolfson said: “It was great to visit the school and see the details of the work they have been doing and even learned a few things myself!”
The exhibition is open to the public on Friday 13 July from 3.30pm – 4:30pm.
