Science Fiction author to read at Town Hall

Liverpool’s Lord Mayor will welcome renowned science fiction author, Iain M Banks, to the Town Hall this week, Friday 12 October.

Iain will be reading from his own work in the Council Chamber for one night only. The reading will begin at 7pm in the Council Chamber and will finish at 9pm with a question and answer session.

Lord Mayor Sharon Sullivan said: “This is a great opportunity for science fiction fans to meet one of the best known and acclaimed writers of the modern day.

“I am delighted to be welcoming Iain to the Town Hall and I hope that we can encourage as many people to come along to this one off event in the city.”

Tickets cost just £5 and can be purchased by logging on to, (this will produce an e-ticket) or you can reserve a space and pay on the door by texting 07914 636545 up to 5pm Friday.

The Town Hall will also be giving away two pairs of tickets via their Twitter account so follow them for a chance to win; @TownHallLpool.

Books will be available to buy on the evening and Iain will be more than happy to sign copies of his new book along with ONE other previously purchased item.
