Liverpool City Council is looking for an independent Chair for its newly formed Mayoral Performance Select Committee.
The Mayoral and Performance Select Committee is a key component of the council’s arrangements to support good governance at the council.
It will scrutinise the decisions of the Mayor of Liverpool in the context of the Mayoral Responsibilities as outlined within the Constitution, the Mayor’s executive powers and to help support the council improve its corporate capacity and improve outcomes for residents.
The council is looking for an individual with an interest in dealing with democratic issues.
Previous experience of chairing committees and weighing evidence is helpful but is not essential.
The successful applicant will need to be available to attend approximately five meetings of the Committee in any year and any associated training and development events.
They will be entitled to be reimbursed for expenses but will not receive any allowance or remuneration.
