Liverpool’s St George’s Hall will uncover its spectacular Minton Tiles this week.
From Saturday 2 August to Wednesday 13 August ONLY, visitors to the famous hall will be able to see the magnificent tiles for the first time this year.
Liverpool’s Lord Mayor, Councillor Erica Kemp will be one of the first of many to see the stunning tiles, she said: “The annual floor reveal never fails to attract a huge response from visitors.
“I hope that this year proves to be just as successful.”

Cabinet member for culture and tourism, Councillor Wendy Simon said: “I know from previous years that each time the tiles in the Great Hall are revealed they attract huge numbers of visitors and I am hoping this this year is no exception.
“Many of our visitors will have been here recently to see the giant grandma and will no doubt be surprised to see underneath the floor where she lay are these amazing displays of craftsmanship.
“I hope we can encourage many people as possible to make another visit to the Great Hall to see the wonderful Minton Tiles, they will not be disappointed.”
The floor consists of 30,000 hand crafted tiles, many depicting the world famous Liver Bird along with Neptune, sea nymphs, dolphins and tridents.
The tiles can be viewed daily from 10am – 5pm with the last admission at 4.30pm every day. There is a small admission charge of £2.50 for adults, under 16s are free. There will also be guided tours charged at £3.50 per person and Walk the Floor Tours at 10.15am and 3pm daily and are charged at £10 per person.
