Summer Reading Challenge

All Liverpool Libraries are encouraging young readers to explore some of the amazing achievements and world records as featured in the Guinness World Records Books as part of the Summer Reading Challenge 2015.

Organised by The Reading Agency charity and the public library network, the annual Summer Reading Challenge is aimed at 4 – 11 year olds. They are encouraged to visit their local library 4 times and read six or more library books of their choice during the summer holidays.

Every year there is a new theme and this year the Summer Reading Challenge has teamed up with Guinness World Records to create a “Record Breakers” themed Challenge.

Collecting stickers as they go, young readers will discover the weird, wonderful and wacky records from around the world in six different categories: Cool Tech, Way to Go!, The Big Stuff, Animal Magic, People Power and Action! Adventure!  Children can also collect a bookmark, key ring, wrist band, fridge magnet and other goodies as they progress through the challenge.

The 2015 Summer Reading Challenge takes place between Saturday 11th July and Saturday 5th September.  For further details and to register for this year’s Challenge visit any Liverpool library.
