Take a look behind the scenes at ACC Liverpool

Ever wanted to see behind the scenes of where the world’s most famous artists, including Sir Paul McCartney, Beyonce and Lionel Richie, have performed?

Echo Arena is opening its doors to the public for the venue’s first ever backstage experience. It will take in the dressing rooms of the rich and famous in the venue’s Artist Village as well as Arena Club Class VIP boxes and the arena floor.

Major shows at the waterfront venue include the MTV Europe Music Awards, the MOBO Awards 2010 and 2012, the Davis Cup and comedians John Bishop and Peter Kay.

The tours, taking place now (Aug), will explore the 11,000 capacity building as well as its sister venue, award-winning BT Convention Centre. Space in the convention centre includes an auditorium unique to England as it can be used as one space or split into three by two rotating drums, creating self-contained lecture theatres.

BT Convention Centre has hosted large scale events including Labour and Liberal Democrats party conferences, BBC Worldwide Showcase and the Global Entrepreneurship Congress, welcoming a range of high profile attendees from Sir Richard Branson to the Queen.

Both venues form ACC Liverpool which overall has generated more than £620m in economic benefit to the region since it opened in 2008. Earlier this year it was named as the UK’s top conference centre.

Refreshments on the riverside balcony are included in tours with a historical waterfront exploration and a voucher for The Wheel of Liverpool available as optional added extras.

Prices start from £5 per person with slots from 9.30am until 5pm Monday to Friday on selected dates in August and September, all subject to availability.
