Take a seat- to keep fit

Childwall residents have been keeping fit – from the comfort of a chair.

More than 60 residents attended the latest Friday Morning cafe community session at St David’s Church when the focus was on staying healthy.

They took the opportunity to try out some chair-based exercises as well as enjoying some fruit and hearing about new ideas to keep in good shape.

There was some advice for a healthy lifestyle from Liverpool Mutual Homes and Herbalife.  Liverpool Community Health attended to promote cancer symptoms awareness and screening.

The Friday Morning Café was set up using Neighbourhood Fund allocation and has run successfully for more than two years. It is supported by local councillors Jeremy Wolfson, Frank Hont and Ruth Hirschfield.
Councillor Wolfson said: “The latest event was one of the most popular we’ve had so far – and it really did help people find out how they can have a healthier lifestyle. The community events are something local residents really look forward to and are going from strength to strength.”

The next Friday Morning Cafe event at St David’s will focus  on digital awareness.  It is on Friday 3 July (10am-noon).Chair Based Exercise (2)
