The race is on in Liverpool!

It’s time to dig out that running kit as Sport Relief is here again.

On Sunday (23 March) the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile will be setting off at Croxteth Hall and Country Park as hundreds of locals limber up for Sport Relief.  Super sprinters and willing walkers will all feel at home with a choice of one, three or six miles.

Enter now at www.sportrelief.com, get sponsored and help transform the lives of people living here in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries, while being part of an incredible nationwide event.

Liverpool’s Assistant Mayor Councillor Wendy Simon said: “This is the fourth time the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile has come to Liverpool so let’s don the headband, get training and show the rest of the country what we can do. There will be plenty of activities on the day so don’t forget to encourage your friends, family, boyfriend, girlfriend and colleagues to get invovled too!”

On Friday (21 March) the BBC will treat the nation to a super special night of Sport Relief TV, with presenters including Gary Lineker, Gaby Logan, Claudia Winkleman, Jack Whitehall and Clare Balding amongst others, hosting a star-studded show full of celebrity performances, comedy sketches, highlights from this year’s challenges and films about the incredible work Sport Relief supports. Del Boy and Rodney will also be back on TV screens after 10 years with a special Only Fools and Horses Sport Relief sketch. Strictly host, Tess Daly, will reveal the judges’ favourite partnership from Sport Relief Does Strictly, where four Paralympians and their professional dance partners, will have taken on a group dance challenge, hoping to impress the judges and take home the Sport Relief glitter ball trophy on the night.
