Tracey Gore announced as new Chair of the Race Equality Taskforce

‘I’m really pleased, really excited about the appointment also a bit scared because it’s a huge challenge.’

Tracey Gore reacts to being appointed as the chair of Liverpool’s Race Equality Taskforce.

Tracey, who has been the director of the city’s Steve Biko Housing Association since 2003, will be seconded to the position for six months and has been invited by Mayor Anderson to lead the taskforce after he announced it last month.

Tracey’s first job as chair will be to work with Mayor Anderson on inviting people from across the city’s BAME communities to join the taskforce who will meet about every six weeks until May 2021 and will also be working with the Mayor’s Slavery Street Names Advisory Panel.
