Transfer of Liverpool Direct Limited Completed

Following the decision by the Liverpool City Council Cabinet at the end of February this year negotiations have been successfully concluded over a six month period to complete the transfer of ownership of Liverpool Direct Limited( LDL) to Liverpool City Council.

The ownership of LDL will be fully transferred to Liverpool City Council on 31 October 2014.

A report setting out the arrangements for the transfer of the ownership of LDL, and the model for future delivery of services currently provided by the company will be presented to the City Council’s Cabinet on 24 October 2014.
In December 2013 both parties mutually agreed to close down the partnership and to transfer ownership of LDL to Liverpool City Council.
The Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson said “LDL has successfully delivered services and service improvement throughout its life.  The relationship with BT has been central to this success.
“We are grateful that BT remains committed to serving residents and businesses in Liverpool but it is timely, given the continued financial climate for LDL to move in a new direction to become fully integrated into Liverpool City Council.”
