The Warbeck area of North Liverpool is looking brighter – thanks to a scheme which has grassroots support.
The scheme has involved local residents adding colour to their neighbourhoods with hanging baskets and planters.
The latest phase of the scheme saw the Dovefields Residents Group joining with the council’s neighbourhood action team and neigbourhoood services to place planters in Moss Lane. Local shopkeepers have agreed to look after the planters and water them
Councillor Ann O’Byrne, said: “This is a project which is proving to be really popular with local residents. When we were planting residents kept coming along to say how beautiful the planters are and how much they brighten up the area. We are now going to extend it further into Orrell Park.”
The scheme has been funded through the local councillors’ fund with the support of Your Place and Liverpool Mutual Homes.
