Christmas events in Warbreck have been bigger and better than ever before.
They have included a bell ringing event in the rose garden at Evered Avenue attended by children from Rice Lane junior and Northcote schools. They were given lessons in bell ringing, sang carols and ate mince pies.
Liverpool-based Tiny Giants performed ‘A Christmas Carol’ in St Nathaniel’s Church, for children from Rice Lane Northcote and Blessed Sacrament schools. They not only saw a fantastic production but met Santa, enjoyed mice pies donated by Sainsbury and received books donated by the Reader organisation. Each pupil made a small donation which was passed on to the Whitechapel Centre for the Homeless, an organisation fully supported by ward councillors Cheryl Harrison,, Richard McLinden and Ann O’Byrne.
And further events are taking place, with “carols by candlelight” in Devonfield Gardens on 21 December and Christmas carols at St. John’s church on the 22nd December.
Councillor Harrison said: “Warbreck has been celebrating Christmas in style this year with more members of the community than ever getting involved and enjoying the festive season- and I am sure they will come along to continue the celebrations at the next events.”
