A Winter Warmer session at a community café gave information and advice on staying warm, safe and healthy during the cold weather.
It was the latest community event to be held at the Friday Morning Community Café, St David’s Church.
The Friday Café, was set up using some of the Mayoral Neighbourhood Fund allocation for Childwall councillors Frank Hont, Liz Parsons and Jeremy Wolfson. It has run successfully for more than three years and introduced a monthly community event on the first Friday of each month.
The Winter Warmer event, which was supported by the Community Health Ambassador Team, featured free health MOTs, alternative therapies, beauty treatments, goody bags, chair based activity and much more. Smoke Free Liverpool, CAB and Healthy Homes were among the organizations handing out information and advice.
Councilor Hont said: “We had a very good attendance from local people, even though it was cold, rainy day.
“It is very important that people know what help and advice is available to them to cope during the winter and I am sure that they found this session very helpful.”
