The government’s Digital Inclusion Champion Martha Lane Fox has praised the work in Liverpool to get more people online.
Go On Liverpool has increased the number of people with internet access on the city by 55 per cent.
In a recent interview Martha Lane Fox said that technological inequality exacerbated social and financial inequalities.
Councillor Nick Small, cabinet member for skills, enterprise and employment, said; ” It is pleasing to see that our efforts on digital inclusion have been recognised.
“We are putting a lot of effort into ensuring more of our residents can go online for the reasons Martha Lane Fox says –to reduce inequality.
” Although we have been successful in our efforts so far we will continue so that we can even more of our residents online.”
