The August Bank holiday is finally here and that can only mean one thing LIMF Summer Jam! No more waiting, get ready and head on over to Sefton Park for a FREE weekend of fantastic tunes from a stellar line-up of headline actsâ¦
Kicking off from 5.30pm on Saturday, the park’s acres of rolling meadows will play host to some of the biggest names in music including Basement Jaxx, Labrinth and local heroes Echo & the Bunnymen performing with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. And let’s not forget there are performances from hot talents such as Katy B, Naughty Boy, Laura Mvula, Becky Hill and many more for an unforgettable end to the summer season.
Don’t miss the acts taking to the Its Liverpool stage where there’s a celebration of all things local with acts including The Real Thing, Space, Louis Berry, Tea Street Band, Hooton Tennis Club and MiC Lowry.
And as if that wasn’t enough, the Bandstand Festival returns so home grown acts will fill Sefton Park’s bandstand on Sunday and Monday.

Everything you need to know about LIMF is literally at the touch of a button. The LIMF app can be downloaded for FREE and has the full line up, set times, maps and a handy calendar. And to make it even more special, the LIMF team has teamed up with Spotify and created a foot stomping, dance around the kitchen, head bopping playlist just for you! It’s full of the tunes from our entire line-up of artists set to play at Sefton Park during the bank holiday weekend.

Children and Family Zone
There’s plenty to keep the youngsters amused too as the Children and Families area will see the park transformed into a holiday-themed zone. Open on Sunday and Monday between 1-6pm, the area will be inspired by sponsors Liverpool John Lennon Airport with a raft of activities from arts and craft workshops, story-telling, sea-side themed street theatre to face-painting and even a sandcastle making competition with an amazing sky-high prize.
There will also be a gigantic five metre high sand castle housing a specially commissioned audio-visual installation by local artists Friend of Foe – so why not give your senses a treat and really get into the holiday spirit as seaside images and sounds play out all around youâ¦
And for festival-goers who need a bit of ‘me-time’ head on over to the Calm Collective holistic tent for a nice relaxing massage.
LIMF Academy
We’re also proud to showcase the top 20 acts of the LIMF Academy 2015, featuring Michael Seary, Jalen Ngonda and Amique. Show your support and drop by the Academy Tent at Sefton Park this Bank Holiday weekend and see budding artists in the making – you’ll be impressedâ¦
Getting there and parking
No parking is available in the area surrounding the park, with the exception of limited disabled parking bays which can be accessed via Croxteth Gates, allocated on a first come first served basis. We strongly urge you to use the local public transport links. St Michael’s train station is the nearest to the park, but more detailed travel information can be found at www.merseytravel.gov.uk.
Road closures
- Greenbank Lane will be closed at Greenbank Road, apart from access to residents and businesses.
- The section of the park between Croxteth Gates (Solna Hotel) and the roundabout at Aigburth Drive will be closed to general traffic and used as car parking for blue badge holders.
- Mossley Hill Drive will be one way for general traffic between Croxteth Drive and Greenbank Drive.
- Closures in and around Aigburth Drive/Lark Lane will be in place to assist and make safe pedestrian movement to and from the event. Diversion routes will be in place during these periods, residents/business access will be maintained.
Traffic restrictions will apply for up to two hours before the event until approximately one hour after the festival finishes each day.
Residents and businesses are advised to carry a utility bill or other ID with proof of their address to help gain access to restricted areas where possible.

Red Square Vodka
Red Suare Vodka are this year’s LIMF sponsors, so when you’re at the park and ready for a sit down, venture over to the Red Square tent and relax in the chilled outdoor bar. While you’re there why not take a selfie in the photo booth and sample some Red Square sorbets and popcorn. If that’s not enough there will be exciting giveaways and competitions across the weekend too. Look out for the Red Square vodka bars and experience vodka from a new angle.
The BBC Experience
The BBC Experience is a pop-up roadshow that is touring the country and giving audiences across the country the opportunity to interact with BBC content and services.
Come along and try your hand at reading the news and presenting the weather, making a radio drama and commentating on a sports match. Activities will include a demonstration by the BBC Blue Room which showcases all the different ways that audiences can access the BBC, a chance to meet some of our CBeebies characters and an opportunity to come away with a photograph of Doctor Who.
The BBC Experience is free and open at the following times over the weekend.
