Youth Club in the picture

The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Liverpool Councillor Tony Concepcion and his wife, Ann, recently visited Mab Lane Youth Club in the Yew Tree ward to help with the making of a new video.

Interviews were being carried out for the video be produced by Riverside Housing in support of the Youth Providers Consortia recently established in East Liverpool to provide good quality diversionary activities for children and young people

Ward Councillors John Prince and Barbara Murray and the Lord Mayor are providing support to the consortia.

Councillor Murray said: “We are particularly pleased that Riverside Housing is taking a lead role in this new initiative.  The filming went well, with thanks to Sophie and Frank from Riverside for all their work pulling the project together, also to parents, volunteers and youth workers.

The young people were really pleased that the Lord Mayor visited and they were so well behaved, enthusiastic and friendly. He played table tennis with some of the boys and it was very touching when they came over to say goodbye and thank him for the game.”
