All you need to know about the elections on 4 July

Elections will be held on Thursday 4 July 2024.

They will take place in the following Liverpool constituencies:

  • Liverpool Garston
  • Liverpool Riverside
  • Liverpool Walton
  • Liverpool Wavertree
  • Liverpool West Derby

There will also be three ward by-elections taking place on 4 July in the Broadgreen, Clubmoor East and Fazakerley North wards.

Registering to vote
To vote in this election you must be on the electoral register. If you are already registered then you do not need to do anything further and your poll card will be sent to you around mid-June.

You must register to vote by Tuesday 18 June 2024 to be eligible to vote in these elections.

Postal and proxy voting
If you are unable to get to your polling station on 4 July 2024, you can apply to vote by post or proxy. The deadline to apply for a postal vote in this election is 5pm on Wednesday 19 June 2024. The proxy vote deadline is 5pm on Wednesday 26 June 2024.

Voter ID
If you vote at a polling station, you must take an accepted form of photographic voter ID with you. If you don’t have an accepted form of voter ID, you can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate. The deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate for this election is 5pm on Wednesday 26 June 2024.
