Last weekend, Liverpool took a bite out of the big apple when a film showcasing the vibrancy and beauty of the city was streamed in Times Square. Entrepreneur and hotelier Peter Schriewersmann tells us about the pride at the role Hotel Anfield played in the video.
Showcasing Liverpool on the global stage gives us a real buzz every time.
The August Bank Holiday weekend was no exception, seeing images of our brilliant city in the heart of Times Square in New York was a real pinch-me moment.
This incredible moment, organised by the global charity TUFF (The Unity of Faiths Foundation) and Hotel Anfield, highlights our dedication to celebrating Liverpool’s rich heritage, dynamic arts scene and vibrant community spirit.
The video, created by The Guide Liverpool, captures our brilliant city in all its glory. The timing of this event was particularly significant as it coincided with Liverpool’s first home game of the season, and marked the debut of Arne Slot as the new manager of Liverpool Football Club. And the film also had its German debut when it was aired on Sky Sports German just before kick-off.
As a Liverpool FC themed hotel located just a few yards from the iconic Anfield Stadium, we were especially excited to include a warm welcome to Arne Slot in the video. This gesture was important to us as we regularly host matchday experiences, welcoming fans from around the world to join us in celebrating their passion for LFC.
This special moment in Times Square, not only celebrated Liverpool’s global connections, but also emphasised the unity and cultural richness that define our city.
