Capturing Live Music Through Photography // Charlotte Wellings Exhibition

British Music Experience presents Capturing Live Music Through Photography, a solo exhibition by photographer Realm of Pixels / Charlotte Wellings

Charlotte Wellings

Beginning 6th March 2020, the exhibition presents a striking series of photographs captured by Charlotte, featuring some of the world’s most iconic musicians – from high-calibre international artists Cher, KISS, Grace Jones and Lizzo to renowned UK acts Iron Maiden, The Charlatans, James Bay and many more!

The British Music Experience will host the first solo photography exhibition since its opening. The photographer chosen for this exhibit is Charlotte Wellings, who is currently carving out a deserved reputation as a top music photographer in the UK. In the words of Gene Simmons from KISS, “Charlotte has a rare eye. What can I say, she makes me look good.”

A sought-after music and portrait photographer with the desire to create memorable images, Charlotte’s work shows a keen eye for detail and capturing vivid colour. Alongside her photography she produces eye-catching photo-manipulations which will be showcased for the first time during this exhibition.

British Music Experience said: “We first met Charlotte through working with The Charlatans and were immediately impressed by her ability to capture the essence of live music from both a performer and an audience perspective. We’re delighted to work with her for our first photography exhibition – we know our visitors are going to love looking through the live images, which will no doubt conjure up great memories of gigs through the ages.”

Asked about the exhibition, Charlotte said: “I’m delighted to have the honour of exhibiting at the British Music Experience. This is a very exciting time for me and my career. I like to make my images as colourful and energetic as possible, capturing the essence of a live concert and portraying the musicians at their best. I hope music fans and visitors enjoy the unique perspective my work brings to some very well-known faces.”
