Community leaders, artists, performers and representatives from Liverpool’s many faith groups will join together this week for a special celebration of city pride and solidarity. The open-air event, to be held at St George’s Plateau on Thursday 25 April will see a host of artists and contributors come together for songs, spoken word and performances all paying tribute to Liverpool’s unique tradition of unity.
THEY come from all walks of life and give up thousands of hours each week to help others…. They provide vital support in many different areas of city life including culture, health and wellbeing, training and community development… And their contribution to the Liverpool economy is worth a staggering £171m a year. They are Liverpool’s army of volunteers and it’s fair to say that the city would be a much poorer place without them.
