Liverpool City Council is relaunching the award-winning 24 Magic Months app, providing parents and carers with simple yet powerful tools to support early development.
This upgraded version features enhanced content and capabilities, making it even easier to nurture children in their crucial first years.
The first two years of a child’s life are vital for shaping many of their life outcomes, how they think, behave, respond emotionally or socially, and develop healthy habits that can last a lifetime.
For many parents, navigating this critical period while adjusting to life with a new little one can feel overwhelming.
That’s where 24 Magic Months comes in!
This refreshed app offers personalised guidance, ensuring parents make the most of every precious moment to nurture happy, healthy children.
At the touch of a button parents will find new content with help and advice on:
- Breastfeeding
- Healthy living
- Parent-infant mental health and relationships
Some of the top tips include:
- Taking care of health and wellbeing sets a good example and encourages a baby to adopt a healthy lifestyle as they grow.
- Simple, everyday interactions like play and story time significantly strengthen bonds and supports child development.
- Being present, limiting distractions and making eye contact, greatly benefits a baby’s brain development.
Some of the app’s key features include:
- Personalised profile with information tailored to baby’s age as they grow
- Milestone tracker to help parents and carers record and celebrate baby developments
- Videos and advice from local health professionals, parents and carers.
- Bite-sized articles with quick, simple activities
- Health and wellbeing advice to support the adult’s journey
- Liverpool service directory to find a range of support
The app is free to download from Google Play and the App Store.
Physical resources are also being shared with local nurseries and children’s centres, and will be available in a range of languages.
