Liverpool City Council is set to welcome a new director of Adult Services and Health.
Anne Marie Lubanski will come to Liverpool from Rotherham Borough Council and will take up the role, which oversees homelessness as well as adult social care, in the new year.
In Rotherham, Ms Lubanski is the strategic director of Adult Care, Housing and Public Health, a role she has had since August 2016.
As a member of Rotherham’s senior leadership team, she has played an important role in helping to steer a new path for the authority putting it on a rapid improvement journey over the last five years by leading the adult care transformation programme and working closely with partners to develop Rotherham’s Place Plan.
With more than 35 years’ experience in social care, Ms Lubanski was also the Assistant Director Social Care Operations at North Yorkshire County Council where she was in post for over eight years and has also worked at Bristol, Avon, and the London boroughs of Hillingdon and Hounslow.
Ms Lubanski is a key appointment to the council’s senior management team that will deliver the city’s Strategic Improvement Plan that will bring change to the council following the Best Value report.
Ms Lubanski replaces previous director Martin Farran who stepped down earlier this month after guiding the team in Liverpool for three years.

“I am proud of the role I have played alongside some fantastic colleagues in delivering the Adult Care transformation programme in Rotherham and I hope to be able to use that knowledge and experience for the benefit of the council, employees, partners and residents of Liverpool.”

“Anne Marie will join us at a time when we are facing some of the greatest challenges we have seen in social care but Liverpool’s response to the pandemic has shown the commitment we have in the city to supporting and improving the lives of our most vulnerable citizens.
