the heart of the city runs down one side

you brought us great riches and spread our fame

we love our community living in Speke
Speke form the heart, Speke form the soul

adding more distress to peoples worry and strife
when things derail we always bounce back
we have a knack of putting things back on track

retail therapy yes Scousers love shopping
two cathedrals, cinemas, plus night life for all
the Play House, St George’s and the Philharmonic Hall
singing, acting and dancing too
comedians bring joy and laughter, that’s what they do
creativity is our DNA, yes that’s how we roll
Scousers are on top of the world, Scousers are in control

sail on the Ferry and see, the Liver Clocks
our cathedrals are like skyscrapers, in the clear blue sky
travel up the Radio City Tower, which is ever so high
the heart of Liverpool, comes from the river
you can imagine the stories, that the Mersey can deliver
carrying ferries, liners and merchant seamen
watched by the Liver Birds, who will guide and protect them
visit the cathedrals, light a candle for peace
say a little prayer, so hatred will cease
we will pick you up, when you are feeling down
we will turn your frown, upside down
my common place is home to me
as I enter the park I am free
the sun is shining, happiness is in my eyes
laughter fills the air, which is no surprise
you can see what Liverpool means to me
because you can be who you want to be
such a magnificent city, a wonderful place
from the Liver Birds to the Love Birds, will put a smile on your face
this is our city, this is our home
Liverpool is precious, it’s a Scouser’s throne
