Hundreds of people took part in a community lantern procession through Walton last night, on the eve of the reopening of Spellow Community Hub and Library.
Pupils from Gwladys Street Primary School were involved in creating the lanterns which travelled through the streets surrounding the hub.
The event culminated in 10-year-old Pearl Ogunyadeka entering the library and opening a book, which triggered the lighting up of the library and a beam of light reaching into the night sky.
