People in Liverpool are being urged to stay safe as the bad weather continues.
Strong winds are expected until late this afternoon with the potential for fallen trees and blocked roads.
Closures, cancellations and disruption
Refuse collections – Services were subject to disruption earlier today due to strong winds. Please put your bin out as normal. If it is not collected today, crews will empty it on Saturday 26 February.
Covid-19: Mobile testing units (for people with Covid-19 symptoms) and RRVs (for people without Covid-19 symptoms) have now been cancelled for Monday.
In an emergency
- Trees: If a tree looks dangerous, has fallen and is blocking the road or pavement please call 0151 233 3001 (during weekdays only, 8am to 6pm).
Outside of these hours, please call Merseyside Police on 999 (in an emergency) or 101. Please note that priority is given to clearing fallen trees that are posing a danger or blocking a main route. - Power cuts: Please call 105

Key advice for residents
Ahead of the storm
- Secure loose objects such as ladders, garden furniture, trampolines or anything else that could be blown into windows and other glazing and break them
- Keep your wheelie bin secure
- Close and securely fasten doors and windows, particularly those on the windward side of the house, and especially large doors such as those on garages
- Park vehicles in a garage, if available; otherwise keep them clear of buildings, trees, walls and fences
During the storm
- Stay indoors as much as possible
- If you do go out, try not to walk or shelter close to buildings and trees
- Do not go outside to repair damage while the storm is in progress
- Take care when driving on exposed routes such as bridges, or high open roads, delay your journey or find alternative routes if possible
- Do not drive unless your journey is really necessary
After the storm
- Be careful not to touch any electrical/telephone cables that have been blown down or are still hanging
- Do not walk too close to walls, buildings and trees as they could have been weakened
- Make sure that any vulnerable neighbours or relatives are safe and help them make arrangements for any repairs
