Road users are being asked to allow for additional time when making journeys around Great Howard Street, due to urgent works taking place.
Scottish Power is currently carrying out emergency repairs following a major cable fault, resulting in a full northbound closure on Great Howard Street between the Paisley Street area and Walter Street.
Works are due to be completed later this week. People are encouraged to use alternative routes where possible and to give themselves extra time when travelling through the area, particularly during peak hours in the morning and evening.

Additional congestion is expected on Wednesday 16 September as Everton host a home fixture, with kick-off at 7.45pm.
Leeds Street, Vauxhall Road, Scotland Road and Regent Road are expected to be busier than usual.
To help keep everyone safe as they travel to and from Hill Dickinson, Boundary Street from Vauxhall Street down to Great Howard will be made one-way heading towards the Stadium, from 4pm to 8pm.
After the match, the traffic management arrangements will be adjusted to help supporters and vehicles leave the stadium area safely and efficiently.
Traffic management teams will be positioned along the route, with police support available where required.
Stadium shuttle buses will operate on a diverted route via Vauxhall Road and Boundary Street. Supporters using the shuttle service should expect some delays due to wider road closures and increased traffic levels.
Visitors booked into Nelson Dock car park are advised to come down Boundary Street and turn left onto Great Howard Street and then right onto Walter Street. For West Quay car park, turn right at the bottom of Boundary Street and then left into Boundary Street with Regent Road.
