FOOD vouchers will once again be distributed to Liverpool families who need support during the national lockdown.
Supermarket vouchers worth £15 a week per child will be available to the city’s 20,000 children who receive free school meals.
Vouchers will be distributed by schools either as e-vouchers or physical vouchers to eligible families this week.
Vouchers will be backdated to the start of term, 4 January, and can be used in Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons.
Liverpool City Council has also pledged to continue the support through February half-term using funding received from the government’s Covid Winter Grant Scheme.
The council was awarded £2.4m in total from the government to support vulnerable people between December 2020 and March 2021. Over £1.3m of the grant was set aside to support families over the two-week Christmas break as well as the upcoming half term.
Vouchers will be distributed by schools. For information please check individual school websites. To find website use the schools search.
