Applications are currently open for the Liverpool Young Futures Apprenticeship Programme. It will create 29 paid apprenticeship opportunities for young Liverpool residents to earn, learn and build a career while making a difference in their city. Over the last couple of weeks, students in Liverpool have been receiving their GCSE and A Level results. A proportion will have their sights set on heading off to university, but we know higher education is not something that appeals to, or is suitable for, all young people. That’s why, as part of our budget setting process this year, we made a deliberate choice to set aside funding to create apprenticeships: Liverpool jobs for Liverpool kids.
The programme offers apprenticeships across a wide range of careers, including marketing, digital content creation, ICT, environmental health, emergency resilience, housing, parks and green spaces, health and social care, and venue operations.
All apprentices will be paid the real Living Wage while working towards a nationally recognised qualification and gaining hands-on experience.
The programme is open to Liverpool residents aged 16 to 20, with opportunities available up to age 24 for eligible young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or who are care experienced, including eligible Liverpool City Council care leavers living outside the city boundary.
Applicants only need one application, making it easier to apply for a range of opportunities. Later in the recruitment process, candidates will be able to indicate which roles interest them most.
We already employ around 60 apprentices and 25 graduates across a wide range of professions, but Liverpool Young Futures builds on this commitment by creating additional opportunities specifically for young Liverpool residents taking their first steps into employment.
