Liverpool schools honoured at Educate Awards 2023

Three Liverpool schools have scooped top prizes at the Educate Awards 2023.

Now in its twelfth year, the event showcases the hard work and creativity in the education sector across the north west, from STEM and performing arts to sports and literacy.

The awards also recognise the individuals who bring schools and colleges to life, from inspiring teachers and dedicated support staff to strategic leadership teams.

The city’s winners were:

  • Abbot’s Lea School: Best SEND Provision, and Mental Health and Wellbeing
  • Gateacre School: The Most Inspirational Secondary School
  • Whitefield Primary School: The Most Inspirational Primary School
  • Employability Solutions Ltd: Most Inspirational Alternative Provision

Gateacre School was runner up in the Innovative and Creative Literacy category, while Gateacre staff member Catherine Chapman was runner up in the Best Teacher section.

St John Bosco Arts College was runner up in the Best Sixth Form category.

Kim O’Brien, founder of the Educate Awards, said: “Congratulations to all the schools and colleges that won at this year’s Educate Awards.

“A big well done to the runners-up and finalists too. Results this year were incredibly close, and judges had a difficult time deciding not only the shortlist but also overall the winners.”
