Tributes paid to Liverpool councillor

Tributes have been paid to a Liverpool councillor who has passed away suddenly. Councillor Richard McLinden had been suffering from Covid-19. He had represented Warbreck since 2007 and was the Chair of the council’s Adult Social Care and Health Select Committee. Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson described him as one of the city’s “best-loved councillors”.

Half term vouchers for children on free school meals

Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson has today announced the city council will provide food vouchers for around 20,000 children on free school meals over the half term holiday next week. The £15 supermarket vouchers will be distributed through the city’s network of Children’s Centres from next Tuesday, in the same way they were during lockdown.
