Liverpool City Council is looking for an independent Chair for its newly formed Standards and Ethics Committee.
The Committee is responsible for developing the Council’s ethical framework, upholding high standards of conduct by the Mayor and Councillors and monitoring the Code of Conduct and local protocols.
It also assesses and determines complaints made against City Councillors under the code of conduct for members.
The council is looking for an individual with an interest in dealing with ethical issues.
Previous experience of chairing committees and weighing evidence is helpful but is not essential.
The successful applicant will need to be available to attend approximately seven meetings of the Committee in any year and any associated training and development events.
They will be entitled to be reimbursed for expenses but will not receive any allowance or remuneration.
