Visitors will have a unique opportunity to step inside one of Liverpool’s most treasured historic buildings this summer as Croxteth Hall opens its doors for a series of special Heritage Market events.
Following the success of Heritage Markets at St George’s Hall and the Cunard Building, Liverpool City Council is bringing the popular concept back to Croxteth Hall, the former home of the Earls of Sefton, on selected Sundays throughout the summer.
Visitors can enjoy a self-guided tour of the magnificent hall while browsing a vibrant outdoor market featuring around 40 independent traders. A smaller selection of stalls will also be located inside the hall on the ground floor of the historic venue.
Self-guided tours offer the chance to explore Croxteth Hall’s remarkable interiors and discover its rich history, with rooms showcasing Tudor, Georgian and Queen Anne architectural styles. Highlights include the elegant Drawing Room, the grand staircase and the fascinating servants’ quarters.
The Heritage Market will feature a wide range of products from local independent businesses, including handmade crafts, jewellery, artwork, artisan food, and much more.
The events will take place between 11am and 4pm on the following dates:
- Sunday 12 July
- Sunday 16 August
- Sunday 13 September.
Tickets for self-guided tours cannot be booked in advance and will be available to purchase by card only on the day from the hall’s ground floor entrance.
Ticket prices for the tours are:
- Adults: £5
- Children: £2
Entry to the market is free.
Visitors can also relax at Café 1575, which will be open from 11am to 4pm. Located in The Library, the café is dog-friendly and offers a selection of coffees, cakes and lunch options, making it the perfect place to unwind after exploring the hall and market.
The nearest public car park is located at L11 1EH, while accessible parking is available in the Conference Car Park via the Flint Drive entrance (L12 0HB).
Liverpool has a proud markets tradition, from the long-running Great Homer Street Market to a regular programme of farmers’, craft, and specialist markets across the city.
