Didn’t get the result you were hoping for? Not sure what to do next? Don’t panic – there are still plenty of options available to you!
Always reach out for support – you do not have to make decisions on your own. There is plenty of advice and guidance available in Liverpool to support young people – and their families and carers – on the journey into training or employment.
As soon as results are received follow these steps:
- In the first instance, speak to your school, college or a careers adviser
- If you think a grade is incorrect, discuss with your school who will explain the process and advise if exam papers may be eligible to be remarked
- English and Maths can be retaken if required.
- If your next step depended on achieving certain grades check with your chosen provider – you may still be offered your place
- If you are unable to take your planned next step, ask about alternative courses, apprenticeships or training opportunities

Youth Guarantee Trailblazer Scheme
Programme for 18 to 21-year-olds in the Liverpool City Region who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) offering access to apprenticeships, training and employment support.
For people aged 18 and over who face challenges to getting into or staying in employment.
Liverpool Adult Learning Service
A range of course for people aged 19+ that will improve skills or lead to recognised qualifications. Many courses are free depending on income.
