Never too old to learn

Adult learners turned out in force for a special event at the Friday Morning Community Café, St David’s Church in Childwall.

The Friday Café, was set up using some of the Mayoral Neighbourhood Fund allocation for local councillors Frank Hont, Jeremy Wolfson and Liz Parsons has run successfully for more than three years.  A monthly community event is held on the first Friday of each month.

At the latest event the focus was on adult learning with tutors giving iPad training and hand and arm massage training.  There was also card making and lots of advice and guidance about adult learning courses.

Councillor Parsons said; “A lot of our residents took the chance to find out about adult education courses and took part in some of the training in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It is very encouraging to see so many people keen on continuing their education. We would like  to thank Sylvia Luft and tutors from the Liverpool Adult Learning Service for their work at the event.”
